You are planning to complete an academic short program as part of your regular studies and would like to clarify which of these credits can be transferred to your studies.
Academic short programs (Summer- and Winter Schools) are not part of the regular mobility offer (mobility semester at a host university).
Academic short programs that are offered at the same level (Bachelor's: Bachelor's modules, Master's: Master's modules) at a recognised university abroad and require attendance (short programs completed online cannot be transferred) can be transferred to your studies.
In principle, a maximum of two academic short programs can be transferred to the free elective area. In addition, it is also possible to transfer an academic short program to a core elective area (see next section).
All mobility students at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics must conclude a credit-transfer agreement (DOCX, 93 KB) before taking part in an academic short program. This is a binding agreement that specifies whether the credits from the academic short program are eligible for transfer.
Regarding transferring credits, please first read the information in the regulations (framework ordinance and program regulations).
Prior review is necessary to have credits from academic short programs appropriate to the level of studies transferred to the core elective and minor areas, and to the INF and OEC elective areas. Without a review of this kind (Credit-transfer agreement (DOCX, 93 KB)), it is only possible to transfer credits to the free elective area. Failed attempts do not count but appear on the transcript of records.
At least half of the ECTS credits required for the major study program must be completed at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics at UZH. The review can take up to four weeks.
