In certain cases, credits you have earned at other universities or faculties may be transferred to your studies at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics.
Please note that a different procedure applies to students undertaking the MSc in Quantitative Finance and Doctoral students in Business and Economics (see the information boxes below).
You began your studies at a different institution and are now planning to continue them at the University of Zurich. You would like to clarify the cases in which credits from your prior studies can be transferred to studies at our Faculty.
You are planning to spend one or two semesters abroad and would like to clarify the cases in which credits earned at another university can be transferred to the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics.
You are planning to complete an academic short program as part of your regular studies and would like to clarify which of these credits can be transferred to your studies.
During the course of your studies, you are planning to complete some coursework at other faculties of UZH and would like to clarify the cases in which credits earned from this can be transferred to your studies.
Transferring credits from coursework completed outside the Faculty
During the course of your studies, you are planning to complete some coursework at ETH and would like to clarify the cases in which credits earned from this can be transferred to your studies.
You are planning to attend a language course at the UZH and ETH Zurich Language Center or complete a language course during your mobility semester, and would like to clarify whether you can transfer the credits earned from this.
The School for Transdisciplinary Studies (STS) combines courses that deal with transdisciplinary topics such as sustainability, digitalization, globalization, innovation, and related topics. The School for Transdisciplinary Studies acts as a hub between the faculties and the initiatives and is responsible for the placement and administration of the cross-thematic and cross-faculty courses.
You are completing or have completed a military leadership program and wish to have it transferred toward your degree. Certain military cadre training programs from the level of quartermaster sergeant/master sergeant (Fourier/Feldweibel) and upward may be transferred toward our Faculty's degree programs. These programs are equivalent to between 3 and 6 ECTS credits.
As a general principle, the minor program at Bachelor's level must be completed at UZH. In exceptional cases, however, and provided approval has been obtained from the examination delegate, it is possible to take a Bachelor's minor program at another Swiss university. It is not possible to do so at Master's level.
