This page helps all students from the Faculty of Business and Economics and Informatics find out how the change of regulations 2022 affects them personally.
Whether the change of regulations are relevant to you depends on when you begin your studies. Use the following links to find out which scenario applies to you. The scenario will then describe in detail how you need to proceed.
If you started your business and economics or informatics studies in HS20 or earlier, you will find all relevant information in Scenario 01. The guidelines on this page will help you to further plan your studies.
Assessment completed
You were already enrolled with us for at least four semesters at the end of FS22. This means that you must have successfully completed the assessment level by the end of FS22. Otherwise, you will be irrevocably excluded from studying at our Faculty, because the new regulations do not affect the deadline for the assessment level.
(Students who have been granted an extension of the assessment beyond FS22, e.g. for medical reasons, are guided by scenario 02).
Modules of the advanced level already completed
Failed attempts that you have taken in advanced level modules will be dropped at the beginning of HS22. From HS22 onwards, the assessment of each advanced level module you take will count as your first attempt.
Students who exceed the maximum number of failed attempts allowed including FS22 will be irrevocably excluded from studies.
If you started your business and economics or informatics studies in HS21, you will find all relevant information in scenario 02.
Basically, nothing changes for you. You will start with the advanced level in HS22 at the earliest and can complete the modules of the advanced level from the beginning according to the new regulations. Your academic achievements from the assessment will be credited towards your degree according to the new regulations.
Generally, the Bachelor's program in business and economics or informatics at our Faculty begins in the fall semester.
If you nevertheless started your business and economics or informatics studies in spring semester, you will find all relevant information regarding the change to the new regulations in scenarios 03a and 03b.
Scenario 03a - Start of studies in FS21
Students starting in FS21 may have completed the assessment in full by and including FS22. Your assessment will be credited towards your degree in full.
You may also have already completed modules from the compulsory program. The guidelines on this page will help you to further plan your studies.
Failed attempts which you have taken in modules of the advanced level will be cancelled at the beginning of HS22. From HS22 onwards, each advanced level module you take will count as your first attempt.
Students who exceed the maximum number of failed attempts allowed including FS22 will be irrevocably excluded from studies.
Scenario 03b - Start of studies in FS22
You are in the middle of the assessment, i.e. as per FS22 you have not yet completed all modules of the assessment.
In this case, you must complete the missing modules of the assessment in HS22. Afterwards, you will start with the advanced level at the earliest with FS23 and can complete the modules of the advanced level from the beginning according to the new regulations.
If you begin your business and economics or informatics degree in HS22, you will complete your Bachelor's degree with our Faculty under the new regulations.
When you enroll, you will choose a major and a minor program of study according to the new regulations.

If you started your Master’s studies in business and economics or informatics in HS22, you will complete your Master's degree at our Faculty under the new regulations.

No longer divided into assessment modules and advanced level modules: only compulsory, core elective, and elective modules.
