Prof. Thomas Rauter and Prof. Uta Mohring join our Faculty

As of 1 October 2025, we welcome Thomas Rauter as a professor of accounting and Uta Mohring as a tenure-track assistant professor of services and operations management at the Department of Business Administration.

Prof. Thomas Rauter received his Bachelor's degree at the University of Mannheim and his Master's degree in accounting and finance at the London School of Economics and Political Science. After a research stay at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, he obtained his doctorate from the Vienna University of Economics and Business in 2018. In the same year, Prof. Rauter was appointed assistant professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Since mid-2024, he has been an associate professor there.

In his work, Prof. Rauter focuses on financial reporting and regulation, with a special interest in topics at the intersection of accounting and economic development in low-income countries.

Prof. Uta Mohring studied industrial engineering and management at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), obtaining her PhD in 2022. She then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto until October 2024. Since November 2024, Prof. Mohring has been a postdoctoral researcher at Eindhoven University of Technology. 

Her research centers on prescriptive models for decision-making in service operations, logistics, and transportation. In particular, she studies the design and control of stochastic systems and networks with strategic agents, especially in logistics as well as shared-mobility and on-demand transportation settings.
