03.02.2025Prof. Ivan De Oliveira Nunes joins our Faculty

As of 1 February 2025, we welcome Ivan De Oliveira Nunes as a tenure-track assistant professor of cybersecurity at the Department of Informatics.

Prior to joining UZH, Ivan De Oliveira Nunes has been working as an assistant professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester. He obtained his PhD from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2021. 

His research interests span multiple fields, including Security & Privacy, Computer Networking, Embedded Systems, Applied Cryptography with a particular focus on their intersections. At the Department of Informatics, prof. De Oliveira Nunes will lead a new research group specializing in Cybersecurity and will teach selected topics related to computer systems security and applied cryptography.
