As of 1 March 2025, Prof. Dina Pomeranz has been promoted to associate professor ad personam of applied microeconomics, with a focus on public policies in developing countries at the Department of Economics.
Prof. Dr. Dina Pomeranz studied international relations and international economics at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. After graduating in 2004, she began her academic career as a research assistant at the Chair of Theoretical and Practical Socioeconomics at UZH. She then moved to Harvard University in Cambridge, USA, where she worked for two years as a research assistant in the Department of Economics.
In 2010, Prof. Pomeranz earned her doctorate from Harvard University. Following this, she joined the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a postdoctoral fellow. In 2011, she was appointed as an assistant professor at Harvard Business School.
In 2016, Prof. Pomeranz spent a year as a visiting lecturer in the Department of Economics at our Faculty. The following year, in 2017, she was appointed assistant professor of microeconomics.
