Describe your job in one sentence.

I support companies in the financial industry in their change processes.

What are the three main tasks in your job?

Client support in project work, market development and business development (including recruitment).

What is the best / most exciting thing about your job?

The project business and the chance to keep seeing new things: new clients, new problems, new solutions, new project teams.

What is the biggest challenge in this job?

The project business can often be very fast-paced, so flexibility and pragmatism help a lot.

What do you need to enter or succeed in this profession?

An interest in management consulting and the financial industry (and ideally some practical experience), curiosity, flexibility.

What opportunities for advancement/development are there?

One of the best things about my job is that the variety of changing projects means there are always opportunities to develop in many different directions. Technical development (topic/client focus), methodological development, leadership development, etc.

What do you wish you had known about the profession as a graduate?

The breadth of topics and career paths that are available within management consulting.

What advice do you have for students who are interested in this job?

Make sure you socialize with people from this industry to gain impressions and, of course, gain experience in internships.

Looking back on your career, is there anything you would do differently? And why?

I had a rather narrow thematic focus in my internships. Looking back, I wish I had had a broader base of practical experience earlier on, as I believe it is always helpful to see things from different perspectives.

Is there anything else you would like to pass on to current students?

Stay curious and open to new things!
