This Master's degree is a cooperation between the University of Zurich, represented by the Department of Finance of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics, and the ETH Zurich, represented by the Department of Mathematics.
Students benefit from the expertise of two leading research groups at two top institutions, from the proximity to the Zurich financial center (banks, insurance/reinsurance and consulting companies) and a well-established multi-dimensional cooperation with industry, including internships.
This specialized Master’s program offers its prospective students an advanced education in quantitative finance. A special feature is its unique combination of economic theory for finance with mathematical methods (probability theory, statistics and econometrics, numerical analysis) for finance and insurance. Recent developments in the FinTech area are included in several lectures.
Graduates have excellent opportunities to work as specialists in quantitative-oriented areas of the financial services industry. There are high placement rates in risk management, asset management or financial product development as well as connections to top consulting firms. A further career opportunity is to enter a PhD in (quantitative) finance.
Mono program (90 ECTS credits)
The curriculum consists of two semesters of coursework followed by the writing of a Master's thesis. The program starts every year in the fall semester (mid September). Interested persons need to apply online for a place of study. Admission is very competitive.

As far as the Master's thesis and the registration for graduation are concerned, the same administrative procedures apply to the Master of Science UZH ETH in Quantitative Finance and all other Master's programs in Business and Economics.
