Junior Researchers

Nurturing young talent in research belongs to the core missions of the Faculty. At present, about 3900 students accomplish a major, 1000 a minor, and 400 a Doctoral program at our Faculty. The most important promotion instruments are the semester awards, the annual award and the FAN award.

  • Semester Award

    Each semester, the UZH faculties award outstanding work with a semester award in the amount of CHF 600 each.

  • Annual and Fan Award

    Each year one outstanding scientific paper or PhD thesis is honored with the annual award of CHF 5,000. The FAN Award also recognizes innovative research and the outstanding achievements of junior researchers and brings them more into the public eye.
