As of 1 November 2024, we welcome Ronak Jain as assistant professor of economics of development and child welfare at the Department of Economics.
Ronak Jain received her MPhil from the University of Oxford and her BA from the University of Cambridge. She then completed her PhD in Economics at Harvard University. Her work lies at the intersection of Development and Behavioral Economics. Jains research leverages field experimentation and observational data. Additionally, she counts Informal Labor Markets, and Economics of Education among her research interests. She is affiliated with the Center of Child Well-Being and Development and her professorship is supported by UNICEF Switzerland.

Prof. Christian Ruff receives a dual professorship. He is now Professor of Neuroeconomics and Decision Neuroscience at the Department of Economics and at the Faculty of Medicine.
We would also like to congratulate Prof. Dr. Todd A. Hare on his promotion to full professor of neuroeconomics and human development. He has been with UZH as an associate professor in this field since 2017.
Congratulations as well to Prof. Dr. Jakub Steiner on his promotion to full professor ad personam of microeconomics. He has been with UZH as an associate professor ad personam in this field since 2019.
