Inaugural lecture by Prof. Nir Jaimovich, 4.11.2019

You are warmly invited to the inaugural lecture of Prof. Nir Jaimovich:

Employment and the Macroeconomy: Facts, Theory, and Policy

Advances in automation technologies have left an indelible mark on the labor market in industrialized economies, as they have experienced a significant drop in the fraction of the population employed in jobs in the middle of the occupational wage distribution. In his inaugural lecture, Nir Jaimovich will address this phenomenon and discuss various public policies options.

Nir Jaimovich is a macroeconomist who studies business cycles and the dynamics of the labor market. He is a research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and an associate editor of the Journal of Monetary Economics and the Journal of Economic Theory. Before joining the University of Zürich, Professor Jaimovich was on the faculty at the Marshall School of Business at USC, Duke University, Stanford University, and the University of California, San Diego. He was also a Research Associate in the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) Economic Fluctuations and Growth program.

The inaugural lecture is public and will take place in the Aula of the University of Zurich (KOL G-201, Raemistrasse 71, 8006 Zurich) on Monday, November 4, 2019, at 18:15. No reservation is needed.

We are looking forward to seeing you there!
