01.10.2024Prof. Dr. Francisco Amaral joins our Faculty

As of 1 October 2024, we welcome Francisco Amaral as Assistant Professor of Real Estate Finance at the Department of Finance. He holds one of the two new professorships in this research field.

Francisco Amaral holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Bonn and is a research fellow at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (ifw Kiel). His research interest lies at the intersection of financial and urban economics, with a particular emphasis on the market microstructure of housing markets and its influence on the spatial distribution of housing prices and returns. Francisco Amaral is also a co-founder of the German Real Estate Index (Greix), a project dedicated to enhancing transparency in the German housing market.
